Insurance

Connection First Counseling is considered an out-of-network provider, which means we are not directly contracted with insurance companies. Because of that, payment is made at the time of your session.

However, many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits. If your plan includes this, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement.

After each session, we can provide you with a document called a superbill. This is a detailed receipt that includes all the information your insurance company typically needs to process a claim, such as services provided, fees, and provider information.

Most insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis to reimburse for services. This diagnosis is used strictly for insurance purposes and does not define you. It’s simply part of how insurance systems determine medical necessity.

If you choose to submit a superbill, reimbursement is handled directly between you and your insurance company.

I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it, and have I met it yet?
  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

Payment

We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. HSA debit cards are also accepted.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, you may be charged the full session rate.
